Switch orientation

Never saw this one - can't find any reference this. Any comments?

So is 'on' to the left or to the right?

Or is it on towards the door casing or away from it?

Or does the ground screw go up? or down?

Their is nothing wrong with it. A bit awkward, but legal.

The wacky thing is that the dimmer switches, which were originally side to side, are now vertical. "On" is down (which is a no-no, no?).

The slide dimmers have what would normally be side-to-side rockers. With the dimmer horizontal, the switch is now vertical. In this case, on is down.

So if the dimmers were to be turned 'upside down' would there still be a problem?

I have done that type of installation in the past. I have no problem with the way it looks.

I think there is some confusion about whether 404.15(B) is violated here.

I don't believe it does, but Tony's post #4 leads me to believe he thinks it does.
