Hi,

I like outside Harrisburg, PA. I have been doing electrical work since 1998. But I have never got any kind of license or anything. How would I go about that? Can I just go take a test or what?

If you want a lic. to work in HBG city, then you have to take ICC test. www.iccsafe.org . Once you pass that, go in, fill out your paperwork, show proof of ins, and pay your money. There are many places to take the ICC test.

Other then that, only other lic.'s are in Reading, etc... otherwise local jurisdiction applies

Since my state is so messed up, I need to check with every municipality. Or at least that is what I gathered.

Yeah, unfortunately you'll need to check with every township/borough you work in before you start. In my area, many of the license requiring localities accept the West Chester license and will sell you their local one based on that. Philadelphia's is also widely accepted. If you know a few of the local inspectors talk to them as I'm sure they can steer you in the right direction as to where it pays off to be licensed.
