LOL!!! Yeah, I seen this today, but can't find a violation. Yet, I believe T. 680.8 will come into play seeing that it's an overhead service, and the conductors look to be 20 feet from the tubs edge (Assuming clearance A).

The hot tub is 1-2 feet from the meter base.

I'm going to check the POCO's code, this seems crazy to me.

Poco is enforcing per NEC 2008. So nothing.

I mentioned 680.8 above, and I don't believe it meets the overhead clearance requirements. Looks like the wires are around 20ft or less away from the edge of the tub. I just find it interesting that the hot tub was so close to the meter base. It's close enough for someone to use it as a diving platform :grin:

Following the NEC would be the concern. The meter base itself must be bonded per 680.26(B)(7)

It's in violation, because of T.680.8, and section 680.26 (B)(7).

Seeing that we notice the problems, we have been hired to move the tub.

part of problem is if it violates 110.26. is meter covered equipment ?
