Yeah, I'd bring up the power to the elevation of the wall hung phone!

Or if new construction, and this is the main phone, I might get the owner to sign off on a carpenter building a phone cove and thus the message machine and phone can all be together. You might even consider placing a second duplex for the portable cell charger... and all tucked under the phone cove.

Oh course if the owner is going to go with one of the new phone provider you might consider pulling another apprioaiate cable and just leaving it in the wall, just ID the demark end and never install. Besides you might even turn that into the Hub center for the whole house. That's my Idea !!!

looks like a great product but does not support 5 volt phones..

if its under a cabinet put an outlet under the cabinet. I use plug mold sometimes in kitchens to clean up the back splash. Or a 1900 box with rs cover.
