Hi everyone,

I would appreciate a little feedback regarding this one. How many of you are seeing your states include motor control questions on the Journeyman Exam? How many on the Master Exam? And if so, are these state-written exams or national texting companies like Laser Grade and Pearson Vue?

Thanks for your feedback.

The NJ state test had one question that showed a simple motor control circuit with an indicator light for start/ stop operation. You had to know which diagram showed the light being lit. The light was wired in series with the motor coil. Pretty simple if you only know the basics.

Just took the Michigan Journeyman's test (which I beleive is state written) and there were 4-5 questions on a basic motor control diagram. As Ron said, pretty easy if you know the basics.

The Michigan masters test was about the same as paac mentioned on the Journeyman test. A handful of questions.
IIRC there was a hand/off/auto circuit ( or something of that nature ) to look at and answer a question about it. Nothing a to complicated.
We did have more than a few motor calc. questions. IIRC there were several consecutive questions. If you got the first calc. wrong you'd have bad numbers to use on the next few questions.
