Generator room

I had to seperate a utility transformer from a generator outside with a block wall that was at least 45 degree it height from highest point of the transformer. These were poco specs. though.

FWIW in Mass. the emergency distribution equipment must be separated by firewalls from the 'normal' equipment.

So I could place a trans in with a generator as long as the trans was part of the emergency system.

Well yes

Heres a generator room we had in a basement of a high rise everything is emergency all the transfer switches on one wall all the transformers on one wall enclosed in a 4 hour rated room .

But the funny part was after they built it some engineer designed a air vent in the wall so it defeated the 4 hour rating .

The generator intake was seperately fed by air duck to the out side along with the dual exhaust outside . :D

Well no iam surprised you asked that question Kohler doesnt make General Electric equipment ?

The generator and the transfer switches are from kohler all our electrical panels and transformers are from us we supply these like a normal job we install the generator and the transfer switches and the gear panels and equipment as a normal electrical contractor .
