Grounding conductor

There is an EGC i.e. ground wire, metal conduit, etc. for the the AC system. It's just not connected to a grounding electrode. The DC current comes from the tracks and goes through the earth. That's why they have negative equalizers for every signal block in the system. It equalizes the voltage between the negative running rails and reduces the corrosion. The negative running rails are bonded to the structural metal of the system.

Ground Terminal bar in Plastic Panelboards?

Ground Terminal bar in Plastic Panelboards?

I have a plastic panelboard that has no ground terminal bar. Article 408.40 in the handbook explains about adding a ground terminal bar but is a little vague on plastic panels. My question is it legal to add a ground terminal bar in a plastic panel that was not manufactured with one?

I can't answer that specifically from a legal standpoint, because it would depend on the panel being listed and the instructions included in the listing.

But I will go on record as saying I would not hesitate to install one. ;)

Thats another one of the problems there is no listing or labeling in the panel. They are in mobile units that were manufactured in Italy.
