This question is related is related to another question that I had last week:

http://forums.mikeholt.com/showthread.php?t=116344

The EC pulled in 2 sets of 400 kcmil's. After some discussion and debate, they started pulling the 400's out and pulling in 500's in their place. However, they pulled in only one set of 500's. Now we have 1 400 kcmil CU THHN and 1 500 kcmil CU THHN in parallel per phase. I have objected to this and I am being asked why.

Aside from not being good practice, I was looking for specific code references. The first one that comes up is 310.4 (B)(3).

Are there other codes that I should be looking at?

Parallel conductors must meet all five of the conditions listed in 310.4(B). Since this installation doesn't it violates the NEC.
