I am relatively new to the contracting business and I have run into something I have not dealt with before. I have a HO who is trying to sell his 1960's home with an old 2-pull 4-plug sub panel in it. The buyer's home inspector is having an issue with one of the S-type fuses having two conductors under its terminal screw. My first suggestion to the HO was just to change the box out to a new one with standard breakers. He does not want to spend the money.
The 2008 NEC states in 110.14(C)(2) that "Separately installed pressure connectors shall be used with conductors at the ampacities not exceeding the ampacity of the listed and identified temperature rating of the conductor."
So my question becomes does 110.14(C)(2) apply to this old installation or am I ok to leave the two conductors under one screw terminal?
The existing 20 amp S-type fuse has been carrying the load without issue from many years.
I appreciate any advice offered. This is a great forum and I have already learned a tremendous amount just by reading the other posts.
