Yes grill the architect, there looks like you could get a vertical install of this on the right side ?

This is RBS16 (shown)
The RBS24 is a 4 compartment

I'd use deep boxes at these switches and maybe double gang mud rings.

surface mounted ? (I don't think you are allowed to cut holes in it, so where are you going to put the boxes ?)

It is an engineered product so cutting holes in it is not an option. Whoever designed the building and spec'd out the wall and electrical will have to address this situation.

You can always call Simpson and see if they have a technical bulleting covering this subject. I would only take direction in writing on this one.

As both a building and electrical inspector I would have you refer back to the architect/engineer for guidance.
