Underground Service

Hi guys. Would anyone be able to tell me, when the power company sets a transformer for underground service do they size there wire for future upgrades (line ampacity). there's a 150 amp service installed. I'd like to upgrade to 200 amp.

In this area the norm is 100 amp meter loop or 200. You will have to call them up and jump through the hoops to get an answer for your area.

the size wire they run for a 150 will most likely be the same for a 200,,,,,,they'll step it up if you put in a 400,,,,,but they won't do it witout a permit number,,,,,,not future use
