Disconnect over 6 meters?

Does any one know the code application for main disconnect over 6 meters?
Does there need to be a fused disconnect after 6 meters or can the disconnect switch be non fused?

Help me understand. 6 meters from where to where? 6 meters high? 6 meters away from the ground rod? 6 meters from the utility transformer?

I have to assume the OP is refering to 6 throws of the hand for service disconect.

As 480 said, 230-71A. You can have six meters with six fussed disconects. After six you must add a main fussed disconect in front of the 7 or more fused disconects.

NO, that would be a NOT PAYIN' 'TENTION DISCONNECT.

230.71(A) does not mention OCPD at all. It refers to a means of disconnecting the service. The maximum number of switches one has to throw to completely disconnect the service is 6. 230.90 deals with the OCPD requirements.
