Reforming

Quite a few months ago I asked about reforming capacitors on drives. Didn't have to do it then because project was put on hold. Three days ago the project was reinstated and they want it done in 10-15 days. Lucky if I can get parts here in that time.

Well, to make it short we just hooked up a small motor & plugged the 2 - 30hp drives in. So far so good. They were on the shelf for at least 4 years. May not last, but they ran about 18 hours before I shut them down.
 
Been a while since I have worked on drives but I remember the capacitors having a shelf life that would require reforming prior to use if they had been sitting idle. I would call the manufacturer and inquire. They should have a procedure. I don't recall it taking more then a few days.
