I have a 60KW 3PH Gen which provides 3 phase 480V AC as EM backup. I currently have 36A, 27A, 28A load on each phase.

I am concerned about adding additional load, as I have calculated it based a formula I found on the internet. I could not find the formula to calculate Amps per phase in the American Electricians Handbook, or any other ref's I own.

I desire a formula and ref to calculate the max amps per phase correctly. Thanks in advance.

P3? = VLINE ? ILINE ? √3 ? pf

...and this formula is in the AEHB (though without the subscripts).

Ok

Ok

I got that part, then I(P) = I(L) x .577 should give me about 50 Amps per phase. Based on the given: 60kW at 480Vac 3Ph calculates roughly 90A total load current.
