Before 3-4 weeks ago I would have not believed an electrician wouldn't know the difference. But there I was explaining the difference to a "grandfathered" journeyman who had his license sum 15 years and just failed his masters for the second time... First time he got a 44...second time 45.

Before anyone ask "gradfathered" means back in the day a master electrician just vouched that you were ready to be a journeyman.... never took a test.... this is all according to him.


Branch Circuit. The circuit conductors between the final
overcurrent device protecting the circuit and the outlet(s).

Feeder. All circuit conductors between the service equipment,
the source of a separately derived system, or other
power supply source and the final branch-circuit overcurrent
device.
