I have a 120v 1/2hp reversing ge motor with 5 leads motor # 5kc63ab776 Im guessing about 50 years old I need a wiring diagram and cant find one
I just bought a new lathe and feel real dumb that as an electrician I cant wire it
Any help would be great
Thanks Jason

I think that is it thanks soo much Jljohnson, Ive been looking for the last 3 days and asking everyone I know.

LarryFine if you read down on that post the guy says it is drawn as just when you throw the switch before the relay closes

Thanks for the help

If I remember right instant reversing motors use the current relay to put both windings on line to bring the motor to a stop quickly, once the current has dropped below a set level,it opens to start in the reverse direction.
Kind of like dynamic braking

That diagram is wrong the drum switch doesnt work that way. He might have a 3 phase switch. but I think I can work with it we will see if I can release the magic smoke.
