sources for stranded wire advice

All the wiremen in Belize use stranded wire for all house wiring. Is there a good official source on the Internet regarding the safe use of stranded as opposed to solid wire? I'm not asking for any opinion here, but simply guidance toward sites that I can show to local wiremen.

This site is geared to people in the trade but considering you do not seem to be asking DIY questions I think we can help you out.

For what it's worth stranded conductors are very commonly used here in the US as well without any special issues.

It seems that the safe use of stranded wire would be (small gauges in a branch circuit application)--
1. make up all splices carefully and securely.
2. make sure all strands remain under the screws when attaching devices.
3. keep the ungrounded, grounded, and equipment ground in the same raceway, at all times.
4. other ideas...

This forum is a source on the internet.... welcome :) We will see if I or others know of anything else...

Do they pull this wire into conduit? If not, is it part of a listed cable assembly? Or are they just pulling individual conductors?

It could be that other countries use stranded wire in cables where we are used to seeing solid.

Common in Japan. How do I know that? We have some Japanese nationals who own property here that bring their favorite sparky over to hack in the remodel. I've seen a lot of it. (seems pretty nice stuff I might add).

Depending on the terminals you have there on devices, there are ferrule crimps for stranded wire that give you a squared-off or trapezoid shaped hard end. This style crimper is what is used:
