nice... that looks like an older QO panel. I always hated the ides of everything makign a jumbled mess at the top. I am glad they went to the new design.

Are you sure??? Aluminum rot can look pretty weird - and that does... But it would have taken an act of the really bizarre to do or think of that when a lug to the can is so much easier....
 
Is that solder, or just bad aluminum oxidation?

And equal hate towards the guys who don't use up the rear-most terminals first. :mad:

Had a panel that looked just like that in my own house a few years ago. Significant corrosion, and all available set screw terminals anywhere near the front had already had two wires under them. Did a lot of rehabbing, and sold the house... as is.

Best solution: Lift the service neutral and wait for the fire dept to show up. :grin:

QO finally got rid of that stupid neutral at the top thing? Good I hated that enough to never use a QO panel. Well, that and they cost more with zero benefit.

If that big bare copper wire that is soldered is a GEC, then it would be a violation of 250.24(A)(4) has to be a wire or busbar connection between the GEC and the the grounded conductor.;)

Not sure what it is though:confused:
