Has anyone heard of problems with compact flourescent lamps causing nuisance tripping on Combination Type AFCI Circuit Breakers.

No, but I have experienced problems with some combination ark fault circuit breakers when used in conjuntion with electrical current..... This one brand seems to work better if not connected to any source at all.

No, have you had problems?

The current waveform drawn by a CFL is pretty nastily non-linear producing broadband RF.
I could imagine a large number of CFLs on a circuit could conceivably cause an issue but I have no direct experience there.
