been reading up on my code, and practicing some calculations, So far the ONLY time you can over size a breaker for conductors (for example, putting a #12 awg on a 30 or 40 amp breaker) is with MOTORS, AC and Hermetic compressors, and Arc Welders or resistant welders.

So did I miss anything??

I know I abuse this every time it comes up - and will keep doing so...

I'm yet to find anything "specifically" saying 240.4(D) can be ignored by any of the codes listed in 240.4(G). 240.4 says A through G - not pick one...

Actully IMO it has been shown to you many times your brain just refuses to acknoledge it. Which brings us to .........

Yes and no, the rules in 695 are not the same as 430

Without a doubt, take a look at 240.4(G).
