testing a capacitor

I know my meter can test capacitors, but i've long lost the instruction manual, and now I have a capacitor I think is bad. How do I go about testing it? Thanks!

If it's a reasonably new "brand name" meter most of the websites have pdf manuals, or one for a similar meter. I don't think I've ever used that feature before, surprisingly since I bought my protek just for that reason.
