I have some equipment with a cerification mark of C-E. I seem to remember that, but can not identify it as a NRTL. Anybody recall C-E ?

CE means the device is built to European standards (primarily safety, but also EMI emissions). It is not an independent testing agency. For all intenets, CE is a self-certification by a manufacturer or importer.

that jarred the correct brain cell. thank (I had "googled" NRTL but didn;t add CE)

You will need to go to the OSHA site. They have the best info and even have a pic of each of the symbols they recognize

List of NRTLs

Thanks. I downloaded for future use. I also notice an list of NRTLs that OSHA no longer recognizes http://www.osha.gov/dts/otpca/nrtl/recgterm.html

I also found it interesting that my State (TN) does not accept some of the NRTLs that OSHA accepts. I don;'t know how they make the determination.

Do you have any input on States that do/don't accept OSHA NRTLs ?
