any recommendations for a heat detector suitable for damp locations, whose manufacturer also makes an interconnectible smoke detector to accompany it?


kidde has nothing. . . . . .





think 'beach house' with a drive-under car-port.

Try this:

Chemtronics Model 502 moisture proof/explosion proof heat detector.

I have installed these in exposed carports before. They are pretty much the only brand that offers anything like it. If, I remember correctly they are about $250-$300 each. :(


Its a Normally open device that closes when heated you would need to be creative with a relay to make it work with interconnected smokes.

Firex makes a heat that interconnects with their smokes, but its for interior use only. Ive seen them in unheated attached garages before, residential only. They work fine for that.
