In 2005 we enacted stronger requirements for all docks both commercial and residential at Lake of the Ozarks.Gfci protection of shore power outlets was one of the requirements as well as a disconnect means at the sea wall.
Unfortunatly many residential docks were granfathered and we have had three electrocutions.

There was another electrcution several years ago just south of you on Marco Island from a wrongly wired boat lift. I tried to google it but not found.
This is sad to ever see happen. We all need to learn from it.
