exit mounting height

On the roof of parking garage, we have 4' height screen wall and stair to go down, we want to mount exit sign next to stair to direct people to go down.
Will this violate any code if we mount exit sign at 4'0" aff? Thanks!

The location of the exit sign is a building code, not NEC.
You may want to speak with either the architect on the print or the B.O.
