Well,

I just landed a 2500 sqft job in Greenville, SC for $8000. It includes the cans (I bought several cases of Halo on clearance for $2.00 a can), wire, and service. There is a $2000 allowance for fixtures and trim. Less than what I would normally do it for, but it is only 5 houses down from mine. It is a spec. remodel, and I did wire the owner of the properties personal house.

It will be a 200 amp service, wired mostly in 14. It is $3.20 a foot. Plus, I get to walk to work. Not sure what rates are in CA, but you might be a bit low.

I have to confess that I don't get the price/ft thing at all unless your doing track work. We just bid a 2600 ft house for $19,650 and were in the middle of the pack. When you have a custom home the price can be all over the board. You can have a pretty accurate number for wiring a home to minimum code, but it all changes when you start doing LED lighting, spas, steam showers, baseboard lighting, yada, yada.

well its been a while since I had to bid but when I was doing house's in VT it was 6 to 8% of total job, 4.00 to 6.50 sq ft, or 55 to 65 a hole. Everything above 120V was figured seperately, cans, smoke detectors/ 3 ways, 4 ways, gfi were bumped up, Dimmers, motion lts outside

Your bidding at 2.70 sq ft way to low.

Whats the sq ft of a new house these days, no fancies $135 to 165 maybe, I don't really know

Wired in 12-2 NO 14-2

2670 X 135 = $360,450

2670 X 5.50= 14,685 then you add lt package ($2000, C2500 price), cans, ceiling fans, electric range, dryer, misc adds by wife of customer.

14685 + 2000 + 600 for cans + 125 for dryer + 145 for range + 1000 for (8)smoke detectors and 1 co detectors $125, 2 motions RAB 1000 2 heads each $300, I,m sure I'm missing something.

total $18,980

6% of 360,450 = 21627

ok off by $2647

If some one could give me prices on wire, devices ie: sw, gfi, and boxes, I could come up with a price per hole.

this worked for me and I was working steady

OK TIME FOR THE BEAT DOWN:D
