i am trying to work on a drawing that is going overseas,Can anyone tell me a source to find international electrical symbols such as receptacles and switches etc...i am specifically speaking of Algeria,

You can refer IEC 60617 for electrical symbols. Use if Algeria adopts IEC standard.

ISO standards follows the ANSI Y32 IEEE electrical symbols fairly close. Check the with the prime contracting company for what standards are being used for your project in Algeria. rbj
