Planning on putting a new panel to upgrade service from 400 amps to 600 amps in a residential installation. Would like to know if they make raintight troughs that can be altered in the field to any lenght. If someone knows of a manufaturer, please reply. Thanks, E/M.

That would be an extreme expense, JMO.

I don't understand the requirement of this, a raintight trough on a residence?

Why aren't you letting the wire be rated "W" and be done with it?

Are there any local UL fab shops on the Eastern Shore?

You might consider a plastic rated troughs or Square D which showed up first with the use of a search engine.

Lets see 8 x 8 x 72 inch (HxWxL) NEMA 3R $271 (not expanable)

4 x 4 x 12 inch (HxWxL) NEMA 3R $37.50 (not expanable)

Both need 1-10 days to deliever or greater.

quoted prices from: Here This has a nice table of various sizes.

Based on a search engine for nema 4X trough Here

Bills in the mail :)

Thanks for the info. We ended up with some 6x6 by 4 foot sections, and another shorter piece I believe made by utility (or unity?) manufacturing. You are right, they are not cheap! Fun to install too.
