Tap a feeder

800A feeder with paralleled 500's.
We will be tapping the 800A feeder for a 100A circuit to serve a VDF/motor.
Do you tap one set of the main feeder run, or do you need to tap both main feeders with 1/0's then tie them together at a 100A temrination in the VFD (which would be difficult to get sufficient lugs in the VFD).

Just overthinking ....

IMO you must tap them both or you will make the original feeder in violation of 310.4

Not knowing what your feeders look like but... an ILSCO LDB-22-500 or something similar.

You don't have to parallel your tap. Use a device that connects to both phases of the feeder and tap from that device. (such as a polaris tap)

Anything similar in a compression? If it were a single set, they would make the tap with H Taps.
