does anybody know what software is needed to open an a3q file. I had an electrician meter some stuff for me and all he did was drop off this file and I can't get a hold of him. Has anybody ever used that file type. I don't even know what kind of meter he used:mad:.

Try opening it with NOTEPAD and see if anything is readable.

I believe notepad uses LF as the end of line delimiter. If only CR is the delimiter in the file, then you get very long lines. Maybe I have CR and LF interchanged here. If a file contains both CR and LF as the end of line delimiter, then notepad has no problem.

You can also use DEBUG to look at the raw data in a file. It is presented as HEX and ASCII.
