RCD neutral broken

some (maybe all) GFCI breakers require line side neutral to be connected even if load side circuit does not require a neutral.

They possibly could trip if line side neutral is lost. may depend on loading and what the line to the floating neutral voltage is.
 
so u say "maybe or all" GFCI's will break the line this way as a protection measure but not due to a "leakage current" or can we say that if line side neutral is broken it means there will be a leakage current somwhere in the circuit and the device will break automatically..
