NEC 250.30(7) says a separately derived system must be grounded with a water pipe or metal building if available. If not available the electrode conductor must be ran to the nearest electrode which in this case would be the service. Is that correct? PART 2 of this question: At the service there is a ufer. If the rebar is tied together the length of the building can the rebar be used as a grounding electrode at the site of the transformer?
