a question came up today and looking thru NFPA I could not clearly find an answer, if you have a duct that has a smoke damper where it crosses a smoke partition, is it required to have a duct detector associated with it if the building does not have a smoke detection system? Could the sprinkler flow switch, or any activation of the F.A. system close the damper. is this acceptable??

thanks

thanks

Ron thanks I believe that clearly identifies that it needs to be a "listed smoke detector or detectors" and to clear up the confusion I was looking at NFPA 72 (if I remember off the top of my head not 1, I ment to say "I") thanks again.
