Hello All. I will be splicing 4-#8's (3 line, 1 gnd, no neutral) in a box. Is the following the proper way to perform the box fill calculation?
Box being used: 6" x 6" x 4" = 144 Cu In.
Current carrying conductors:
1. 6-#8's (3 line conductors for each cable entering the box)
2. 1-#8 (All ground conductors count only as one no matter how many there are)
3. 1-#8 (For all cable clamps no matter how many there are)
8 conductors x 3.0 Cu In [per Table 314.16(B) 2005 NEC] = 24 Cu In......more than enough space.
Thanks for any and all replies.
