Hope all is well with everyone.

Am I to take 'acute care facility' to mean any clinic at all or is there a solid definition somewhere? I'm looking at OSHPD requirements in California and they have different requirements for buildings requiring non-structural performence category 5 (NPC-5), etc. which I dug up but I'm having difficulty finding the abovementioned definition.

I may be wrong but when I think of a clinic I think where you go to get a check-up, physical etc, doesn't normally involve staying over for treatment. So I would say no.
Acute Care at a hospital or medical center.

An 'acute care facility' is essentially "emergency care" without the hospital. Set up for patients needing immediate attention, without provisions for long-term admittance.

I recommend contacting the architect to determine the exact building classification
and use. The architect usually defines that information on the first few drawings of
the plan set which details all the codes required to be followed and building classifications.
