The system will have a 4-pole ATS with generator back-up as emergency power and normal power from an existing power panel. I am assuming the existing power panel has a N-G bond upstream of the breaker I will be connecting to. Is it wrong to treat the generator as a separate service and install another SE disconnect with N-G bond for the generator feed?

Thanks for any and all replies.

With it being a 4 pole switch then you are switching the neutral correct?
It would be a separately derived system. You would bond the ground and neutral at the first OCP device which would more than likely be the breaker on the gen. set.
