A practice question ask:
A FD single gang box 2-1/8 " deep shall have a minimum volume of __ in cu.

The answer is 18 so should the question have read 2-3/8" ??

And what is a FD box and or a FS box???

Thanks for all the help!!

The total volume of the cubic inches of the wires involved will be just that.

As they get respectively counted!

If the cubic inches of wire exceeds the cubic inches of a box volume, then one will go up in the size of a box.

Dont' forget to add the device count

FD- F deep, FS- F shallow, can't remember what the F is for. I agree with you the dimension should have 2 3/8" as it appears in T314.16(A).
