For a Generator and a Building that are seperate strucures can the GES be the same for both structures? The generator is connected SDS (neut-grnd bond at gen) with no neutral run to transfer switch as there are no L-N loads. The transfer switch and service are at the building.

How far is the generator from the building?

Take a look at 250.30(A)(7). It talks about the grounding electode being as near as practicable and perferably in the same area. This then becomes an interpretation issue with your inspector. I would probably check with him 1st or just drive some ground rods.

Parellel Grounding Path?

Parellel Grounding Path?

Obviously the GEC would be a parallel path with the EGC for fault currents from the generator. Is this a concern?

Do the service neutral have any fisical connection to de GEN neutral? If not you should be trate the GEN as a SDS . (Bonding jumper,GEC and Stell bonding will require )
