im installing a standby generator at a residence am i permitted to run my feeders to the generator in the same trench with the gas line ? the gas line is after the meter and is concidered an appliance by the gas co. my feeds are after the auto transfer switch and protected by the proper overcurrant protection that is required
 
Rob,

Check your local codes first, but normally it is ok to do as long as some seperation is

between them. For example, gas pipe down 3' then 12" of backfill, then electrical conduit.

yes thats exactly what i was told but wasnt given a code referance to support it all work has already been completed and now needs redone and theres noway i can redig the trench deeper at this point and not enuf room to go beside the existing trench
