What are the code requirements for installing a small (probably 1 cubic inch) sealed transformer (3Watts) in a standard switch box (3 3/4" X 2 1/4 X 3")?
How need the secondary wires(that supply power to the switch plate) be protected from the high voltage wires?
Thanks for your Input!

what is on the low side of this transformer ? screws or wires. If wires what is the voltage rating. Next issue is did mfg list it for this install?
Help us out with some info.

NuTone makes one that is designed specifically to be mounted in an outlet box:

Is it listed for such? Remember tat they mast be able to cool.
I may not seem like it gets warm in open air by place it in an enclosed area and the heat will build up.

Thanks for your wise comment, very thoughtful! Now, maybe you could also throw me some code references that apply to my question! I would appreciate that!

Look up fill calculatons under Boxes 314.16(B)- your cubic volume to some space is presented in you OP.
