Aluminum house wiring

If it is cost prohibitive to replace the existing aluminum wiring thru-out a dwelling, can the dangers of aluminum wiring be safe guarded by installing arc-fault circuit breakers. Is this a reasonable solution or selling point to the home owner?

I would call it a very costly way to do very little good. There are other ways to make alum safe by using approved pigtails. The best way is rewire and yes not cheap.
The alum. systems are now about 40 years old and in my opinion a time bomb. They were garbage when new so very little will change them. Do warn them that insurance companies might refuse to carry them.
