This has been mentioned on this site for years. In the real world nobody really cares as the dishwashers are often wired with the wrong cord and plug.

Good point. I wish someone could convince this to my inspector. He will turn me down without documentation from the dishwasher manufacturer.

What's your options? Hardwire. I always cord & plug connected so that you had a means to disconnect the DW.
