What is the difference between GE circuit breakers type TED and type THED? The only difference I notice on the quote from my supplier is the voltage rating of the THED is 600V while the TED is 480V. Would that explain the $350 difference in price?

Check the interrupting ratings. The "H" used to also indicate a higher rating, I thought. (Don't have a GE catalog with me and their website is slooooow).

rc is right, interuption ratings are very different. $350 difference? What amp rating you talking about? Your pricing seems very high just based off the difference is price you stated.

I've got a quote for a 3-pole 60A, which I need for an air compressor.
THED $555
TED $192
ITE HED $429
I'm puzzled by the variation in pricing...

Do you understand available fault current?

THED and TED are physically interchangeable but if you have high fault current available you have to use the more expensive breaker.

Do you know the available fault current at the panel you will be installing the breaker.

It is a sure bet if it is loaded with THED breakers there is a reason and you should use a THED as well.
