I am in desperate need of one (1) Eagle Signal Micro 190+ PLC. From what I can find out, all refurbishers have stopped repairing these units and my only spare is DOA. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I don't insist. I've tried to convince my boss this day was coming but they wouldn't listen and now they're in deep you-know-what. I already spec'ed out a new system but I was hoping to be the hero and get the machine running again in the mean time.;)

Gotta love it. So often "bosses" are short sighted when it comes to things like this, they rarely consider the cost of down time until it happens. How do they get into management I wonder?

Sometimes it's best to bite the bullet on old stuff like that and upgrade.

But if you insist, you might try these guys.

There is a note there saying the web site has not been updated since 2007. Not encouraging.

It would appear like the quickest solution to getting your machine back up this time around just perpetuates the problem.

With such a small PLC even a hack of a PLC programmer should be able to convert the existing PLC to a more current brand/type in a few days.

I'll be happy to come to Nebraska and help you out. ;) I'm fortunate enough to work for a company that takes a priority in retrofitting obsolete controls, and it keeps me busy.

What kind of IO configuration did it have? What process was it running?

That's what I'm hoping for.:D

Yeah, that website listed a couple of posts above is a dead end. I've tried them before. I'm off work today...I can't wait until tomorrow to see what my helpful:mad:coworkers have come up with in my absence.

i can't tell you how many obsolete control systems of this size the company I work for has replaced over the years.

At some point you have to move to something that is likely to be around 20 years from now so you can keep the machine going for another 20 years with minimal pain.

twenty years from now, it will be someone else's problem to deal with.
