Info on the Bicsi RCDD Exam and Study Quides

I have taken the exam and failed it twice.
I think it is just a club.
I haven't seen any reason to pursue it any further.

I wouldn't want to be a member of any club that would have me as a member.

Looked into it, those that have it didn't seem impressed.
 
I have been in this trade for 35 years and haven't seen where having a RCDD made any diference to anyone.

I have never seen it required for any job.
 
Specs for structured wiring and networking will sometimes require that it be installed under the supervision of an RCDD or that one be on the job at all times. So if you are big into low voltage wiring particularly data networking for large companies it might be something that you could benefit from. Since you didn't know this it doesn't sound like this is what you do anyway. I also tend to agree that it is a club that creates specs that have no regulatory weight (unlike the NEC). There is a steep learning curve so don't expect to pass their tests without some extensive preparation because their way to do installations is their own way. More towards the club angle, I have heard that they are very selective about who they pass.
