For a residential dwelling re-model I would like to move the location of the main electrical box (breaker box) from its current location which is in an astheticly poor location to a utility room which includes a cloths washer, dryer, and a deep freezer. What rules apply to the location of a breaker box. Does it need to be seperated from the Clothes washer by distance or a closet of its own? Can it be located directly above the washer?
