200amp drop to meter sockets

Locally you would have to submit a load calculation and the servcie disconenct locations would have to be approved.

Can I convert a 200amp service into 3 seperate 100 amp servces by installing a 3 gang meter socket?

It appears that you will still just have a 200 amp service with three 100 amp feeders.

If you truly want three separate 100 amp services to the same building you may have issues with 230.2

I looked at 230.2. The service is for a triplex. A 3 story house that is converted into 3 apt. The 3 panel boxes are on the other side of the wall from the meters. So is it possible to add a 3 gang socket from 200 amp drop to feed 3 100amp panels

I'd say if the load calculations for all three come in less than 200, then you could leave it.

I agree. As noted in post #2, you will most likely be asked to show the total load calculation to assure the 200 amp service conductors are adequate.
You may need to address 230.72(A) and (C) with the AHJ

I agree with what the others have posted. I think that one overhead drop for 3 tenant spaces complies with 230.2. But as Augie stated, you would need to do a load calculation and be sure that 230.72 (A) and (C) are complied with. Also, you should talk to your AHJ because I would be surprised if a 3 story house was built with required tenant separations in anticipation of it being converted to 3 apartments. ;)

the place was gutted from a fire and zoned to be a 3 apy building when h new contruction is being done. The apt are all 1 bed, 1 living room, 1 bath and 1 kitchen(gas range). So the biggest load are gonna be the central air units. Each apt will have their own. I gues my next questions is just one ground rod? And do I just daisy chain it from panel to panel from the ground rod?

Around here, the GEC cannot enter the meter base. So I would end up with
(2) ground rods, and a GEC from each of the (3) service disconnects going to the rods
