condulet splicing

I come across these situations quite frequently in my plant and it appears to be a code violation, so I was wondering if I am missing an exeption or something.
A 1/2" "L" condulet with two #12 wires spliced in it to go to solenoid? The "L" condulet is rated at 6.0 CU IN. or so. Also a 3/4" "T" condulet rated at 10 CU IN. with 2 #14 wires passing through (a NO contact wire and a NC contact wire) and the common and ground wires are spliced in the condulet because they feed the two different limit switches?
