Gfci

Installing a recptical on the outside wall of a batheroom. It is with in 6 feet of the sinck but the bathroom has a door on it. Must it be a gfci. What code ???

I think a bathroom sink could still be considered a "utility sink", so if a 6' cord can reach the edge of the sink from a receptacle, GFCI would still be required per 210.8 (7).

210.8 (B) (5) deals with other than dwelling unit that requires the GFI with in 6' of a sink. And as was stated before if its not in the same area its not part of that area.(other than maybe a few exceptions) And so should not be required
