Mix drawn and welded j-boxes

Hey everybody. Had to create more box fill in a welded 4-square box the other day, and all I had was a drawn-type extension. Was this against code? Did I need to use a welded-type of extension, since where the rounded corners of the drawn box meet against the square edges of the welded box there is a 1/4-1/2" gap?

look up nema1 ~up to 3/8 opening is ok

I think that's to much gap myself and would probably say something, but then again I usually say something if I can see the wires behind the blank cover, because the cover is warped.

The idea is to keep all the bad stuff inside if something happens.
